Marsh Lake Bed & Breakfasts
Just a 30 minute self-drive South on the Alaska Highway.
Colonel Frederick Schwatka climbed the Chilkoot trails and headed down a string of Lakes into the Yukon River System making fairly accurate maps of the region and named the Lake after Professor Charles Marsh, a famous palaeontologist whose discoveries supported Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Marsh Lake is one of 5 major spring staging areas for spring bird migration including thousands of Trumpeter and Tundra swans through April and early May. February groomed trails provide for the annual open family Ski Loppet Race. Glacier Lakes and rivers, a photographers dream, parallel the circle route along with local villages and historic sites.
